Works ongoing at the site of the first cut.
Path 2:
Fibre jointer technicians are onsite of the second fibre cut. Excavation works have begun to expose the damaged fibre.

Path 1 (Dunedin to Oamaru):
Cause of cable cut was rodents. Trains have been stopped, and techs are allowed into the tunnel to start repair on the first fibre cut. Estimated time of repair for path 1 is 5pm today - this will bring internet services online.
Path 2 (Balclutha to Gore):
The area of the second fibre cut has been identified (46km from Balclutha). Repair may take longer, time of repair to be advised.
Issue has been identified as Double Fibre Cut taking down both redundant paths servicing Dunedin/Queenstown.

Technicians are onsite at both locations assessing damage, no ETA has been provided as of yet. This outage is affecting a number of providers for fibre, fixed wireless and cell coverage across the Otago and Southland regions
