Microsoft 365 Potential problem impacting Microsoft 365 Copilot chat

Microsoft is investigating a potential issue impacting Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat. We'll provide an update within 60 minutes.

  • Incident has been resolved. Web and desktop application access is now available.

  • Microsoft have identified an issue with a recent deployment for Microsoft Copilot. They are reverting to a previous build to remediate impact as soon as possible. We expect this to be completed in the next 30 minutes.

  • At this stage, the outage appears to only be affecting https://m365.cloud.microsoft/chat/ and the M365 Copilot desktop application.

    Copilot is still available in Microsoft Teams as a workaround.

    Connectivity Fibre Outage

    Unplanned fibre/UFB outage in the Queenstown and surrounding areas including Queenstown, Arrowtown, Wanaka, Milford Sound. ETA unavailable at this time.

  • Path 1 fibre repaired - connectivity restored to all sites

  • Updates Path 1: Works ongoing at the site of the first cut.

    Path 2: Fibre jointer technicians are onsite of the second fibre cut. Excavation works have begun to expose the damaged fibre.

  • Further update,

    Path 1 (Dunedin to Oamaru): Cause of cable cut was rodents. Trains have been stopped, and techs are allowed into the tunnel to start repair on the first fibre cut. Estimated time of repair for path 1 is 5pm today - this will bring internet services online.

    Path 2 (Balclutha to Gore): The area of the second fibre cut has been identified (46km from Balclutha). Repair may take longer, time of repair to be advised.

  • Issue has been identified as Double Fibre Cut taking down both redundant paths servicing Dunedin/Queenstown.

    Path 1 cut between Dunedin and Oamaru Path 2 cut between Gore and Balclutha

    Technicians are onsite at both locations assessing damage, no ETA has been provided as of yet. This outage is affecting a number of providers for fibre, fixed wireless and cell coverage across the Otago and Southland regions

  • Fibre Cut has been identified in the South Island causing a loss of service to Queenstown and surrounding regions.
